OVID Programme Recipient Government Registration Information

OCIMF

You have selected to Register as an OVID Programme Recipient within the OVID Programme, please ensure that this is correct. If you are the Technical Vessel Operator of Offshore Vessels, please use the ‘Register Technical Vessel Operator’ link instead.

OCIMF is a voluntary association of oil companies having an interest in the marine transportation and terminalling of crude oil, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, their derivatives and related organic compounds. Essentially, it is concerned with the safe conduct of these operations and the prevention of pollution. It represents its membership before intergovernmental, governmental and other organisations. OCIMF is incorporated in Bermuda with a branch office in London. The current membership of OCIMF embraces 105 companies and groups worldwide.

The Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID) has been developed by OCIMF in response to a request from its members to provide a database of offshore inspections broadly following the format of SIRE. Recognition that the offshore industry has different processes and procedures than the tanker world for assurance and chartering has been taken into account.

The aim of OVID is to provide a robust web based inspection tool and database of inspection reports; that is underpinned with professional, trained and accredited inspectors. In the long term it is an aspiration that OVID will form a platform that is central to the selection and assurance of offshore vessels enhancing the safety of operations in the industry.

From 16 January 2017 OCIMF will offer access to the OVID programme to non-OCIMF member companies for the first time. This new group of users will be called OVID Programme Recipients. The OVID Programme Recipient category will be open to stakeholders in the offshore support vessel industry that share OCIMF’s concerns for marine safety and pollution prevention, and either charter offshore vessels in support of their operations or have offshore vessels operating at their facilities.
